Winter's first snow has fallen and we are staying warm inside with the big black dog and the little pig. Bucky has wrapped up his fall fishing with a trip to the South Fork in Swan Valley, ID and the Madison in Yellowstone. I accompanied him a few weeks back on his endeavor to catch a spawning brown on the Snake, but we had little luck and a lot of snow. It was beautiful. He did catch a vibrant fall-colored cutthroat after sticking it out in leaky waders. (He said he could feel ice crunching between his toes)
Thanksgiving was not the same without our families, but Bucky and I had a few treats sent from our moms that helped remind us of home. We are enjoying Pokey and settling into a rhythm out here. We are also really excited to add skiing to our schedule. Speaking of which, Jackson Hole had a record snowfall this weekend and we hope to test out our new (to us) ski's from the ski swap in the upcoming weekends.
